Once upon a time, this girl didn’t know anything about Publix.
Shocking, right? Considering my deep and unending love for that store and how when it closed for 8 months for renovations I truly almost died even though there was another Publix about 5 minutes in the other direction? Southerners get RULL possessive of their Publix, y’all.
Some of you don’t know what Publix is, and for that I”m truly sad for you. You might say, “Oh, please, a grocery store is a grocery store. What is this girl on? Too much sniffing nail polish, clearly.” No, friends, you really don’t understand. Publix isn’t just a grocery store; it’s an Experience warranting a capital letter. Clean…friendly…freshly baked bread…cheeses from all over the world….PUBLIX SUBS…great produce and meats….Buy One, Get One free specials weekly…employees who want nothing more than to carry your groceries out to your car and load them in (although I always say no because it’s totally awkward.) The Publix experience can’t be put into words or even a complete, grammatically correct sentence. YOu just have to get on a plane or hop in your car, drive to one of the the stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, and find out for yourself.
We go to Publix so much that my child knows it by name. Ok, that’s not completely true. He calls it “Pudge” and knows that’s where he gets cookies because they give them to good boys and girls and bad boys and girls whose parents want them to be good while they run in to get a few things.
Publix caters to these parents so much that they are running the Running Out, Run In sale going on until Wednesday, March 20, featuring great deals on products from General Mills, Old El Paso, Green Giant, Pillsbury, Yoplait and more (here is the complete list.) We’re all busy people and cookies only last for so long, so Publix is making it easy to get lunches and dinners for the fam without taking too much time — and, shoppers who buy $25 in participating items get a $5 Publix gift card through a mail in rebate.
So here’s my Running Out, Run In shopping list:
Because if we dont’ cook something quick for dinner, we’ll go out to eat.
Because the kid doesn’t really like to eat anything, so green beans it is (again.)
Because see above, plus we eat like college students sometimes so…..
Because this is the most fun a toddler can have at the dinner table without getting into some kind of trouble.
Because I’m not completely irresponsible, people.
There are tons more great deals every day from Publix, so stop by if you have one close by. Want to try these amazing deals for your own? Enter to win a $25 Publix Gift Card! Follow the RaffleCopter instructions below to win. This contest is open to anyone, but please only enter if you are close to a Publix.
This post was sponsored by General Mills, and I was provided a $25 gift card from Publix for my participation. All opinions on the awesomeness of Publix are mine (forever and ever Amen.)
