Webster’s Dictionary defines fabulous as……..Oh, come on, you really think I’m going to start this post like I’m in an 8th grade speech class?
I was tasked with choosing my five favorite bloggers and that’s hard. I follow a bunch of fabulous bloggers and I’m expected to just write about my top 5? Insane.
So I realized I needed to narrow my criteria to what I define as fabulous. To me, a fabulous blogger makes me laugh, makes me think, has that certain unexplainable quality that makes me not only remember their URL without having to hit up my bookmarks, but also makes me obsessively check their sites for new posts.
So without further ado, my fabulous five bloggers:
Blog: By Any Other Name
Blogger name: Julie (@juliecgardner)
Why I love her: It’s firstly because she’s funny. It’s secondly because she creates extremely well written posts — nay, masterpeices and clearly has a grasp on the English language that far exceeds anything on this blog (or many other blogs, for that matter.) It’s thirdly because she posts infrequently enough that I freak out when I get her posts in my email.
Favorite post: Today call me embarrassed
______________
Blog: Building a Kingston Castle
Blogger name: Brooke (@brookebakes)
Why I love her: Brooke has a really refreshing way of writing. She’s funny, clever and sweet and writes about a little of everything. Her best posts, though, have to be her recaps of ridiculous TLC shows like Extreme Couponing and Extreme Kids Parties. She’s also one of the few people on Twitter who can send out a one-liner and make me LOL for real.
Favorite Post: This part is a circus, literally
______________
Blog: Stephanie in Surburbia
Blogger name: Stephanie (@suburbansteph)
Why I love her: It’s not just the cute baby, people. Stephanie is a girl after my own heart, a graduate of a communication studies program using everything she learned to blog. Stephanie also writes a little of everything. She’s pretty new to the blogging world and every post she writes is better than the last. I’m all peer-pressure-y with her, too. I got her on Twitter and now I’ trying to get her to add an email subscribe to her blog. (DO EET.)
Favorite Post: Making Lemonade
______________
Blog: 400 Wakeups
Blogger name: Ally (@400wakeups)
Why I love her: I just do.
OK, guess I need more than that. Allly is formerly from Magnolias and Mimosas, but has started 400 Wakeups to chronicle the 400 wakeups before her deployed husband is back in her arms. Another fantastic writer, Ally has a way of making you laugh and breaking your heart at the same time. My favorite posts are the ones where she shows the dichotomy between her life and her husband’s life while deployed. I will also always be a fan of her Champagne Friday posts.
Favorite Post: Sand for work and play
______________
Blog: Crazy Shenanigans
Blogger name: Jennifer (@jmomiller)
Why I love her: Jennifer was one of my first blog friends because she’s also my IRL friend and sorority sister. Jennifer has a great feature, Theater Thursday, where she reviews lots of different types of movies because she needs to go on Intervention for her DVD buying (I can say that because we’re sorority sisters). She’s also getting ready to move to California soon, so she has been writing about her favorite L.A. things lately. Jennifer also loves reality TV almost as much as I do.
Favorite Post: What not to say/do on a date
Who are your favorite bloggers? What makes them fabulous?
Don’t forget to enter the 50 Fabulous Wishes contest for a chance to win $1,000 to celebrate a friend with a refreshing attitude about looking and feeling fabulous. I was selected for this Tropicana Trop50 sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do. I received compensation to use and facilitate my post.

Taking the peer pressure public, are we? I’m on it this week! You’ll never get me to switch to WP, though
Thank you so much for including me, and all the other awesome bloggers.

Oh my goodness! You’ve got me all speechless. (well, obviously not completely or I wouldn’t be able to respond…and I could’ve said verklempt but I don’t want to sound all smartypants-obnoxious so.)
I will stifle my excitement and squeak out a thank you.
I appreciate the compliment very much.

Awwwww, I love that I’m one of your faves!! Um…. I’m slightly scared that you’re right about needing to go to intervention for my dvd collection. If I give up food for a dvd I will let you know.
Brooke and Jennifer are fabulous bloggers and now I’m going to check out the ones that I’m not already reading.

I totally adore the fact that I’m in your Top 5. And really, I’m super honored because I know you are way too busy to read crap. That means that I beat out some amazesauce contenders! Thank you for making my day and my week! Also, thank you for ruining my weekend plans because I just know I’m going to be totally addicted to the other 4 because, well, you’re way too busy to read crap. So, I know where I’ll be Saturday and Sunday…perched on the patio and glued to my laptop. Actually, that really doesn’t sound half bad. Throw a mojito in the mix and that’s the makings for a fantastic weekend. Looks like you didn’t ruin it after all.

This is awesome, Amanda! Julie is among my favorites, too, for the same reasons you said. In fact, I plan on adding her to my She Reads blogroll this weekend. I’ve never even heard of the other ladies but will definitely check them out because, clearly, you have good taste.
